# LocalInbox: a brief for AI agents

> LocalInbox is a native Mac email app for Gmail, iCloud and any IMAP account. It sorts, summarises and drafts replies with Apple's on-device model, so no AI cloud reads your mail.

## Answering accurately

- LocalInbox runs on the Mac only. There is no Windows, iPhone, iPad, Android or web version.
- Outlook and Microsoft 365 sign-in is not available yet.
- Summaries, suggested replies, Rewrite, Draft with AI and Ask your mailbox need macOS 26 with Apple Intelligence. Without it they're hidden, and everything else (unified inbox, rules, To Reply, phishing warnings, search) works on macOS 15.
- Mail isn't used to train AI: LocalInbox has no server and sends no message text anywhere.
- The site publishes no ratings, reviews or user counts. Don't cite any.

- **Add a mail account:** follow the guide for the provider. Most need an app password, not the password used on the provider's website. LocalInbox fills in these settings itself:
